3AF 2020+1 congress: article and presentation
3AF 2020+1 congress : isolated vs wind tunnel nacelle
InVIGO has presented results during 3AF 2020+1 congress on April 12, 2021, entitled “Unsteady simulation of intake ground vortex ingestion in real wind tunnel condition”. The full article and presentation slides are available here: Article Presentation
First test campaign held successfully
InVIGO will present results during 3AF 2020+1 congress in April 2021. Results regarding ground vortex on both isolated nacelle and wind tunnel configuration will be compared. The paper is a common Altran/CSTB article and will describe the experimental set-up in addition with numerical results. Similar ground vortex results are obtained for the chosen operating point. […]
Methodology activities related to Wind Tunnel testing and CFD
First InVIGO test campaign was successfully carried out in CSTB facilities in December 2020. More than 10 days of wind tunnel tests allowed acquiring a lot of vortex data on around 50 wind/ground clearance configurations. The 250 kW fan permitted to reproduce required engine flows for all expected combinations of engine intake and crosswind velocities. […]
NAFEMS France 2020 congress
First methodology activities related to Wind Tunnel testing and CFD have been carried out by CSTB and ALTRAN. Corresponding reports will be delivered soon. Many interesting conclusions were drawn : Unsteady simulations have to be considered for some operating points Complementary ground vortex capture methods have been set up Cutting-edge visualization means will be effectively […]
Ground vortex state-of-the-art
Abstract accepted for NAFEMS France 2020 congress “Benefit of mesh adaption vs. conventional CFD approach for nacelle aerodynamics with ground effect”.
First technical work package concerning state-of-art regarding ground vortex is almost finished.
InVIGO Kick-Off meeting took place at Safran Aircraft Engine facility on October, 11 2019
